May was a busy month for Aurora, Jon, and Kathy. Aurora continued to grow and grow, and she met many more people this month, even receiving visitors at home (Lindsey, Justin, Frankie, Sibley, and Leila to name a few). Aurora even managed to go an entire month without having a doctor's appointment! Kathy, on the other hand, finally went to see an orthopedic surgeon about her sore wrists. She was diagnosed with tendonitis (caused by holding Aurora between her thumb and index fingers) and received cortisone shots to treat the condition. Kathy also went to several Walnut Hill performances this month. Jon continued to work on a few ongoing home projects, such as successfully reattaching a short length of gutter to the back of the house (it fell down due to the weight of the snow this past winter) and trying to put on a chimney cap. As a family, we went to Mother Goose on the Loose, shopping, and hiking. The biggest event for everyone this month was Jon's mother's visit at the end of May.

May 1: Princess Aurora living up to her name - Sleeping Beauty!

My, what tiny fingers and hands you have!

Time to pick a new outfit for the day:

May 2: Jon and Kathy feel blessed to have such a happy baby!

Wiggle, wiggle, giggle...and sleep!

May 3: Catching some extra sleep with Daddy before a big day!

Our first trip to Mother Goose on the Loose at the Newton Public Library.

That afternoon, Aurora attended Corin (and Oliver) Benedict's baby shower.
Tuckered out after being admired by all the women there, Aurora gets some rest on Corin's sister's shoulder.

May 6: Aurora is happy to be getting some morning play time with Daddy

May 7: Going for a walk around the neighborhood with her Mama

May 10: Aurora is concerned about having to help Kathy fold the laundry.

May 11: We had some family time during the day and Uncle Anthony came over too!

May 13: Aurora is starting her CD collection already.

May 14: Aurora is beginning to figure out that she has fingers...and if she can get them into her mouth, she can suck on them! But it still takes a lot of concentration and trial and error.

That evening, Frankie treated us to a fabulous dinner...and Aurora thanked her with smiles.

May 15: Aurora woke up in a great mood...until she ended up in the laundry basket again.

May 16: That evening, we all attended a lecture about stem cells by a Cornell professor. Kathy got to hear the lecture, but Aurora wasn't interested so Jon took her into the lobby to check things out.

Back at home, Aurora posed with her Daddy. She sure looks like a baby on the go!

Aurora doesn't seem too excited about going to Cornell. That's OK, since her parents won't be able to afford it anyway!

May 17: Grandma Zalesky arrived for a 10 day visit with Aurora. Here we are on the way to meet her.

May 18: After her first feeding of the day, Aurora usually lives up to her namesake "Sleeping Beauty." Of course, we doubt that Sleeping Beauty had a broken neck!

In the last few weeks, Aurora keeps getting more and more expressive:

Why is Aurora so surprised? Because she's half-naked and she's standing!

Both Aurora and her Dad seem to like the message on her Onesie today.

May 19: Catching a morning nap before getting dressed for the day.

Aurora is all smiles this morning....even during tummy time!

May 20: For some reason, Aurora often levitates her arms when she's asleep in the carseat

Aurora and Grandma Zalesky get a few minutes together in the morning.

After visiting a day care center, Aurora enjoys shopping with Mama.

The day ends with some tummy time, helping Mama mow the lawn, and playtime with Daddy

May 21: More morning smiles...and 2 outfits! (can you guess why?)

May 21-23: Aurora gets better at getting her right thumb into her mouth.

May 23: Kathy and Aurora meet up with Jon for a lunchtime walk around Fresh Pond.

After Daddy gets home from work, Aurora enjoys some alone time with him. She also proudly shows him her new multitasking skills (talking on the phone while holding Goo Goo Goldfish too!)

May 24: Aurora loves to eat fish! (at least Goo Goo Goldfish)

Aurora suffers from "bed head"

Aurora shows off her "muffin top" (adorable on a baby...not so cute on an older person)

May 26: Memorial Day...Aurora is excited about her first trip to the Natick Collection to help Daddy buy new dress shirts.

The short hike we took at the Fellsway tuckered Aurora out!

After the hike, we went to Uncle Anthony's for a BBQ. When we got home, it was time for a pre-bedtime snack. Aurora is making sure she gets every last drop in the bottle!

May 27: Aurora is the perfect baby! How do we know? She's rolly-polly all over and her Onesie tells us so.

Aurora spends some time with Grandma Zalesky before she goes back to Houston. Uncle Anthony took Grandma to the airport.
