January 2011: January was a collection of our usual activities (Gymboree, etc.) along with some
unusual things. We had brunch at Greer's house, the Winter Festival at daycare, the return of
head lice, and a hockey game. There were also a couple
of major snowstorms (which resulted in several snow days for Mama - yea!).
January 8, 2011: After Baba abandoned us to run off to Vegas for a week, we headed to Gymboree for open gym playtime.

January 9, 2011: Gymboree class was followed by brunch with friends.

January 11, 2011: Dinner with Corin, Oliver, and Lindsey! The kids start off with MishMashes and move
on to Ants in the Pants.
January 12, 2011: Blizzard! Poor Jon is "stuck" in Vegas for 2 extra days due to the snow, so Aurora and Kathy (with
help from our very nice neighbors) have to shovel themselves out. This winter, Aurora has really taken to
eating the snow. The hard part is making sure she only eats clean snow! Aurora was incredibly patient, spending
over 2 hours outside as Kathy shoveled away. Thank goodness for the awesome snow suit from Wai Po!
We also got a "bonus" Christmas tree in the front yard.

The measurements were taken near the back of the house,
so actual snowfall was most likely several inches higher.
January 13, 2011: Aurora is already pretty good at using the mouse and scrolling through this website to
look at pictures of herself.
January 14, 2011: The Winter Festival began with a performance from Aurora's class. Unfortunately, Kathy misread the
schedule and missed Aurora's debut show. The day concluded with a visit from Animal Adventures. Aurora bravely
touched a snake, held a lizard, and petted a chinchilla.
January 15, 2011: Aurora is glad Baba decided to come back home. She loves to play with him at Gymboree!
January 16, 2011: Holy giant icicles! They look neat (though scary) now, but will cause problems for Jon later.
January 17, 2011: Jon and Kathy have the day off, so we took Aurora sledding at the playground. She was so excited
to see the sled all pumped up!

January 18, 2011: Oh no! Another outbreak of head lice at day care! For Kathy, it means spending
close to an hour combing out Aurora's hair. For Aurora, it means extra Bob the Builder or Wiggles videos.
January 29, 2011: Cornell-Harvard hockey. This was Aurora's third time attending the game, and for the
first time, she was scared and did not like all the noise. Jon and Aurora spent most of the game at the
Crimson Pub eating Redbones BBQ and hanging out together.
Another Big Red victory!
Not watching hockey can be pretty tiring!
